Dosing your Kratom

Are you a beginner? There are several things that make it challenging to create conclusive rules on Kratom dosing. For one, different people process Kratom differently. Metabolism rates and levels of tolerance to Kratom will both impact how Kratom is processed by the body. On top of that, different kinds of Kratom have varying levels of potency, so it can be hard to say with certainty what effects will be like from one strain to the next.

Keep in mind that different Kratom strains will act differently at several doses, so mild to moderate doses are typically favored. In general with Kratom, it’s better to take too little than too much.

Determine your own maximum dosage for the best results.

1 - 2,5 gram: Threshold
3 - 4 grams: Mild
5 grams: Moderate
10 grams: Very Strong
10 - 15 grams: Very Strong

The effects are clearly apparent, but subtle.
Typically the effects are stimulant-like.
The effects can be stimulant-like or sedative-euphoric-analgesic.
Sedative-euphoric-analgesic effects; too strong for highly sensitive people.

Sedative-euphoric-analgesic effects (TOO STRONG FOR MOST PEOPLE)

Dosages of 10 grams or higher can produce uncomfortable effects and can create a form of dependency. Also, with such high dosages, strong side effects can be experienced. So be careful with this!

Duration of Kratom effects

The effects of Kratom usually last five to six hours. When taken on an empty stomach, the onset of effects is typically felt 30-40 minutes after ingestion. If there is much food in the stomach, it may take 60-90 minutes before you can feel the effect. When you put your Kratom Powder in capsules, the onset of effects may be delayed a little because it takes more time for the capsules to dissolve in the stomach.

Read before using

Caution: People vary in sensitivity to Kratom. You should always start with a lower dosage when using a new batch of Kratom. You can increase the dose gradually until you obtain the desired level of effects. DO NOT take a strong or very strong dose the first time you are sampling a new batch of Kratom. Most people experience nausea when taking too strong of a dosage. Sensitive individuals may experience nausea at lower doses. Some people are hypersensitive to Kratom and may experience adverse reactions (such as severe and prolonged vomiting) when using very high doses.

Risks and safety

Using Kratom by itself (without combining it with other substances as alcohol or drugs) is considered safe. It is possible to feel sleepy when you use Kratom. Do not drive while under the influence of kratom, even if you feel stimulated. The sleepiness effect can kick in on a later moment. Always use common sense when consuming Kratom.

Kratom and Pregnancy

There are no studies of the risks of kratom use with pregnant women, it is not known whether it could cause birth defects or fetal death. We strongly recommend that any woman who could possibly be pregnant not to use kratom.

Drinking Kratom

As with many powder extracts of plants, Kratom does not easily mix with water. Many people drink Kratom by mixing it with water in a glass, but not everyone can handle the taste. It has a slightly bitter taste and, if mixed with water, it can clutter and stick to the glass and your mouth. This is because the texture of the fine Kratom powder is not easily soluble.

So what is the best way to prevent this?

Tosh and Wash Technique

The Tosh and Wash is a fairly simple technique and works very well with Kratom. It causes you to experience the bitter taste as little as possible and it does not stick in your mouth.

This technique can be done with water, apple juice or orange juice.
The following method works well to lessen the taste of Kratom as much as possible:
- Take a sip of water and hold it in your mouth.
- Then take half of the desired Kratom dose with a spoon.
- Then take a sip of water to flush away as quickly as possible.
- Repeat this 1 time to suit your desired dose.

In addition:
You can also use orange juice for the second sludge so that the kratom flavor is rinsed away.

It is important to remember that you do not inhale during the TOSS AND WASH technique, Kratom dust can reach the lungs or stick to your skin. It is uncertain what effects Kratom has on the lungs, so it is best to avoid this.
